Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum
The Thyssen-Bornemisza collection in Barcelona is located in the Pedralbes Monastery, in what was once the clarissas' sleeping quarters; it includes 72 paintings and eight sculptures, chosen to be representative of the collection as a whole and for their historical and artistic importance.
The display is divided into five major sections: Medieval Art, the Early German Renaissance, the Italian Renaissance, the Baroque and the late Venetian Baroque.
Visitors can feast their eyes on the works of old masters such as Fra Angelico, Gaddi, il Veronese, Titian, Cerrutti, Zurbarán and Canaletto, among others.
The collection of the Museu Thyssen-Bornemisza is worth visiting in order to see both the works of art and the building itself: the rooms, the cloisters and the San Miguel chapel, which houses famous paintings by Ferrer Bassa, a pupil of Giotto.
